Miranda: Professional illustrator, candy lover, glam girl

Miranda is a character art doll for collectors age 8 and up. She is 18" tall. She is owed by her namesake, but if you'd like to order your own custom doll, visit StudioBeoGlas.Etsy.com.

Meet Miranda, candy incarnate! Miranda is a professional illustrator who lives, eats, breathes, and wears her art in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her sweet-but-arresting style is inspired by her interest in vibrant colors, desserts, science fiction, glam, and the magical girl icons that were popular when she was growing up. When Miranda isn’t creating art she enjoys playing video games, riding bicycles, dressing up, and thrifting.

Miranda recently graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration. She has her very own website – check it out and you’ll find some delicious and exciting stuff to admire and even buy!

The real Miranda!
How Miranda was made
Miranda is made in the MakerDoll style, from 100% organic cotton fabric, grown and woven in the USA. Her arm joints are double knotted and adorned with vintage blue buttons; her leg joints are hand-stitched and French-knotted with embroidery floss. Her clothes are handmade from repurposed fabric. She’s wearing a cotton t-shirt with a cupcake (one of her favorite icons) appliqued on the front. Her pants are made from cotton stretch knit and both top and pants feature ruffles. She’s wearing a necklace made from another vintage button and bracelet crafted with a wooden bead and satin ribbon. Her glasses are handmade with wire, fabric, yarn, and found faux crystal and silver beads. Her shoes are lime cotton stretch knit. Her face is hand-drawn, needle sculpted and painted with water color pencils. Her hair is made of pink and multicolored yarns, hand-sewn onto her head.
