Keith
is a collector doll for ages 8 and up. He stands 18” high.
Meet
Keith: The unpure purist. He says “Good music
comes out of people playing together, knowing what they want to do and going
for it. You have to sweat over it and bug it to death. You can't do it by
pushing buttons and watching a TV screen."
Keith was born in
December of 1943 in Dartford, Kent, England. While still a teenager, he
co-founded the Rolling Stones and still plays with them fifty years later. Fourteen of Keith's songs are listed in the
top 500 songs of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.
How Keith was made
Keith is made in
the MakerDoll style, from 100%
organic cotton fabric, grown and woven in the USA. His arm joints are double
knotted and adorned with metal buttons; his leg joints are hand-stitched and
French-knotted with embroidery floss. His clothes are handmade from repurposed
fabric. He’s wearing
a faux leather vest, silk neck scarf, tight black pants and matching shoes, a headband, a faux
leather studded belt and studded arm band. On his left wrist is a chain
bracelet with lobster clasp, and his hair is interwoven with found ceramic
beads. He wears a serpentine chain necklace with wooden medallion. He sports a
faux cigarette and silver hoop earring. His face is hand-drawn, needle sculpted and painted with water
color pencils. His hair is made of furry yarn, hand-sewn onto his
head.
