Liane: Animal lover, gardener, cabinet maker, stone carver, project manager

Meet Liane! She grew up in the Mojave desert. Her family raised goats, horses, birds, gardens, and welcomed stray cats and dogs. She’s carried a love for animals with her, especially cats and lizards.

Liane likes to create and is constantly learning new skills for her projects: Stone engraving, laying stone pathways, designing gardens, building cabinets, tiling. Liane likes rocks and stone. She learned to sew early on, with her brother providing her first hand-sewing lesson.  She was making her own clothes in grade school and continues creating when the mood strikes.

Liane has always loved to dance, to move, and finds joy in expressing herself; whether it’s in a dance class, in a dance club, on stage with a belly dance troupe, or with friends around a bonfire. She has taught different dance forms, and choreographed for community plays and student programs.

Liane thinks she’s found her career in Project Management. Projects are always new, always different, and she always gets to talk with lots of people to learn what they do and help them organize their work. She helps them create a schedule that works for them. No doubt Liane’s career path will take different turns and curves. It will fill her time when she’s not creating at home or enjoying time with husband, cat and friends.

Her clothes are handmade from repurposed fabric. She’s wearing a handmade ruffly red dress with faux crystal beading and a sash, and her shoes are from repurposed black stretch knit. She has a handmade necklace made from found turquoise, faux crystals, and carved cinnabar. Her face is hand-drawn, needle sculpted and painted with water color pencils. Her hair is made of faux fur fabric, hand-sewn onto her head.
