Marisol: Gymnast, Writer and Student

How Marisol was made

Marisol was made from repurposed cotton fabric. Her arm joints and leg joints are hand-stitched and French-knotted with embroidery floss. Her clothes are handmade from repurposed stretch cotton blends. Her face is hand-drawn and painted with water color pencils. Her hair is made of twisted yarn, hand-sewn onto her head. Her necklace is vintage costume jewelry, circa 1980s.
